Bovine Art!

I had the first, in what I hope will be a series of livestock photo shoots, in Feb. These three images are from today's session in the darkroom. I have lots more negatives to work from from that first farm. They are Semmental(sp) beef cattle. They range from a rich mahogany and white to a light cream color and white. Very fuzzy and wonderful patterning. Made for super B&W images.

A couple more new pieces...

Here are a couple of more new images I have been working on. The snow shot did not document too well. There is much more detail in the black horses face. I have been having fun photographing my friend Brenda's horses this winter. The bottom two images are of her horses Cal and Red. The muzzle and neck in the previous post are of her Rocky Mountian horse Buddy.

It has been a busy later winter.

It has been a very busy late winter for me. Lots of time spent in the darkroom, and since the winter has been relatively mild, I have been able to get out and photograph as well. These are a few of the newest images. Rather abstract and I am very happy with them. I have done some nice close cropped head shots that I will psot another time.

It is hard to get the full feeling of these, as the scale is very important to with them. The muzzle is nearly life-sized. I love the texture in these which is really apparent in the large size.
